DISAPPOINTED…VERY MUCH
To those who read my posting on budget wish list, would’ve easily comprehend my utter disappointment towards the Budget. The Budget easily isoloates the majority of the tax payers i.e. the middle class. The very cream of the society who are in their late 20s or mid 30s who would not gain anything from the new deductions like children in Higher learning Institute etc. Furthermore, majority of the tax payers are people who work in the private sector but the people who recieved the biggest allocation are govt servants (in terms of bonus) and teachers. What about us Pak Lah?
About 5 billion of ringgit will be allocated in the budget for construction of govt infrastructure and schools etc. We all know where this contract will go to, don’t we?

Completely agree with you Shaz. The budget really was a budget for govt servants and not all malaysian. In this aspect i think the PM’s think tank made a mistake in annoucing the measures on reduction of road tax and etc. prior to the budget. If it was incorporated in the budget, there might be some reprive to the backlash the budget is receiving now. Anyway, worse than the budget was the auditor general’s report… the amount of money the govt has wasted over the past few years is just sickning!! If you missed it, refer to the dailies on Friday I believe.

interesting tots there. one thing i’m worried, more than us mere middle classes getting caught in the middle, (i’m not that pious but,) any income from ’sin’ is sin in itself?. so ’sin’ tax, where does is go? it got me thinking. maybe u familiar with govt spending? just some silly tot dancing around my head.

Hmm… I actually dont see a problem with how ’sin’ tax is spend. It is money collected on the importation or sales of ’sin’ items, but its not related to the profit of selling such items or the production of it. Hey, they can build a school for my daughter for all it matters. I am actually more concerned with the zakat money, as there is very little accountability on where that money goes to!!

If anwar is right, then I guess, the govt is ok in building schools and making farewell parties and golfing trips using that money. But if we’re gonna get into great details then I’m sure there are many corporate giants who do not use Halal means to gain profit but contributes greatly to the govt’s funds too…How are we gonna ensure about that?

Zakat money is supposed to be used for Noble intentions like helping the poor, orphanages etc…Where does the money goes, anyone’s guess…I don’t think u can see from the budget report where does this allocation goes….Anu, I’d like to see the one on the wastages..Thanks mate
